This condition causes a difficulty in making movements such as walking, and even creates problems in maintain balance. The movements of the eyes are also affected due to this disorder. Patients diagnosed with this condition may seek progressive supranuclear palsy ayurvedic approach.

Progressive supranuclear palsy occurs due to the deterioration and degeneration of the cells in regions of the brain that control the thinking processes and the body movements.

Some other symptoms of this condition include a progressive loss of muscle and joint coordination, and stiffness of the muscles in the neck and back. It may also result in slow movements, and cognitive dysfunctions.

Patients also have a higher risk of falling and injuring themselves due to the loss of muscle coordination and an inability to maintain the balance and posture.

The symptoms of this condition tend to worsen over a period of time and even result in life-threatening complications including pneumonia.

The exact cause of Progressive supranuclear palsy is not known. However, it is believed to occur due to the loss of or damage to the myelin sheath, a covering of the nerve cells, which helps in the conduction of the nerve impulses.

The involvement of the nerves and the loss of myelin sheath can trigger complications such as a difficulty in swallowing, tremors, difficulty in bending forward or backward the neck up and jaw jerks.

Some patients also experience an inability to focus the eyes due to which they have a double vision or blurring of vision. They may also have a difficulty in looking downward. As a result, they often face embarrassing situations like spilling the food or falling of objects from the hands.

The lack of proper eye movements may also cause them to appear disinterested in the conversation. These symptoms of progressive supranuclear palsy can affect the personal and professional life of the patients and even affect their self-esteem and self-confidence.

Patients may advised to contact any qualified and experienced ayurvedic consultant  or doctor, who can recommend a holistic approach. Ayurveda expert may suggests some herbs and recommend yoga asana to improve the muscle movements. The treatment may also include meditation and breathing exercises aimed at restoring your self-esteem and self-confidence.

If not managed properly, progressive supranuclear palsy can cause sleep disturbances due to which the patients experience immense mental stress. They often develop a loss of interest in routine activities and exhibit impulsive behavior, which may involve laughing and crying for no apparent reason.

Over time, the condition can worsen resulting in the loss of memory, logical reasoning skills, and the problem-solving abilities. These complications can increase the risk of anxiety and depression. Ayurvedic treatment may help to address PSP by improving the quality of life and reducing the risk of dangerous consequences like depression.
