Navel Displacement is a purported condition based on the Yogic beliefs. It is characterized by a possible shift in the navel center. The displacement of the Navel, also called the Nabhi Chakra or solar plexus in the ayurvedic system of medicine, is believed to occur due to the digestive troubles. Ayurveda may offers Navel Displacement treatment.
Navel displacement may also occur due to lifting heavy weights, or a routine hard work that involves an excessive use of the abdominal muscles. Skipping meals, which can affect the digestion and trigger constipation, and other gastric troubles have been found to be commonly associated with navel displacement.
A lack of appetite and pain in the stomach are the common symptoms of this condition. An ayurvedic diet that includes foods, which support the digestion and relieve constipation and flatulence may provide relief from this condition and even restore the normal position of the navel.
The navel or the umbilicus is hollow in structure. In rare cases, it protrudes from the abdomen. A protruding navel could be a sign of an umbilical hernia, which is common in infants. The umbilicus lies at the front of the abdominal region and believed to be perpendicular to a point between the third and the fourth lumbar vertebrae. In some people, it may lie between the third and the fifth lumbar vertebrae.
A shift in this normal position of the navel may indicate an underlying abnormality, which could be linked to the digestive system or the muscles and other tissues in the abdomen.
The shift of the navel can occur at either or both the parts of the navel, the Umbilical Tip or the Periumbilical skin. The central part of the umbilicus is formed by the umbilical tip, also called the belly button. It is encircled by the periumbilical skin.
Outies refers to the parts of the umbilical tips that rises above the level of periumbilical skin while the part of the umbilical tip below the level of the Periumbilical skin is called the Innies.
Navel displacement may cause a disfigurement or distortion of these parts of the umbilicus. An ayurvedic practitioner can recommend an appropriate ayurvedic treatment for navel issues symptoms. The treatments may involve the use of herbs that relieve digestive troubles and may prevent stiffness or excessive contractions or relaxation of the abnormal muscles.
According to the ayurvedic experts, a displacement of the navel is considered a sign of misalignment of the solar plexus which could trigger back pain.
Also, ayureda suggests that the normal position of the navel is believed to reflect a healthy functioning of the digestive organs. Navel displacement reflects a disturbance in the production and release of some hormones, which regulate the digestion resulting in unhealthy disturbances in the functions of the digestive system. As a result, patients may develop repeated bouts of loose motions or diarrhea.
These symptoms of navel displacement along with discomfort and pain may also make a person weak and prone to illnesses. An inefficient digestive system can deprive the body of the essential nutrients due to the lack of absorption of food.
According to Ayurveda, the navel region also represents a point where the energy production linked to the digestive functions occurs.
Hence, seeking ayurvedic treatments and practicing yoga for navel displacement may be helpful for people having these issues. Patients may learn how to check Dharan in stomach to find if the navel is positioned correctly or needs to be repositioned to its natural position using herbal treatments.
Natural treatments for navel displacement recommended by Ayurveda may help to correct the position of the umbilicus in a variety of ways. The Dharan stomach treatment is aimed at restoring the normal functions of the digestive system to prevent navel displacement symptoms.
The Navel or Nabhi displacement treatment is also aimed at reducing weight if obesity is found to be the cause of the mispositioning. Patients may also practice the navel displacement management by yoga to control the movements of the muscles in the abdomen in order to bring the umbilicus to its natural position.
