Jatyadi Thailam - Ayurvdic Antispetic Oil Medicine

 

Jatyadi Thailam is an ancient ayurvedic medicine used as natural anti-septic and anti-fungal. It has been used for healing wounds, cuts, bruises, anal fissures since ancient times and it is considered efficacious for external application for injuries, wounds and bruises. It is one of the famous ayurvedic herbal application for non-healing ulcers and abscess.

 

 

जातीनिम्बपटोलानां नक्तमालस्य पल्लवाः।सिक्थकं मधुकं कुष्ठं द्वे निशे कटुरोहिणी।। ६४।।

मञ्जिष्ठ पद्मकं लोध्रमभया पद्मकेशरम्।तुत्थकं शारिवा बीजं नक्तमालस्य दापयेत्।। ६५।।

एतानि समभागानि पिष्ट्वा तैलं विपाचयेत्।विषव्रणे समुत्पन्ने स्फोटके कुष्ठरोगिणि ।।६६।।

दद्रुवीसर्परोगेषु कीटदष्टेषु सर्वथा।सद्य:शस्त्रप्रहारेषु दंष्ट्राविद्धेषु चैवहि ।।६७।।

नखदन्तक्षते देहे दुष्टमांसापकर्षणम् । म्रक्षणेन हितं तैलमिदं शोधनरोपणम् ।।

तैलं जात्यादिनाम्नैतत्प्रसिद्ध भिषगादृतम् ।।६८।।

Main Ingredients of Jatyadi Oil 

 

Leaves of Jasminum grandiflorum are main ingredient of Jatyadi Oil, which has excellent healing properties and acts as regenerative herbs. Other herbs important ingredients are such as neem, Stereospermum suaveolens, leaves of Pongamia pinnata, Honeybee wax, Glycyrrhiza glabra, Saussurea lappa, Curcuma longa etc. These ingredients enhance the action of Jasminum grandiflorum.

 

Ayurvedic Pharmacological action of Jatyadi Tailam Oil

 

Rasa: Tikta, Katu

Virya: Sheeta

Guna: Vranaropanam

 

Ingredients present in Jatyadi Oil are anti-septic, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and has rejuvenate capabilities. When it is applied locally, it destroys the microbes and aids in fast recovery from the wound or ulcers.

 

It possesses anti-gangrene abilities as well. Therefore, it cleans the wound and aids in repair of damaged tissues. It kills the microbes that causes gangrene and stops its progress to inner structures. It is also beneficial in diabetic foot. 

 

Traditional Uses and indications of Jatyadi  Oil as per above Shloka:

 

Vish Vrana: Poisonous cut and bites

Sphota: Inflammation or infected wounds

Kushtha: Skin disorders

Dadru: Itching

Visarp: Microbial skin diseases like Herpes

Keetad shotha: Insect bite

Shatra prahar varna: Blunt trauma

Nakha dant khshata: Trauma caused by nail or teeth biting

Dushta mansa akarshan: Infected gangrenous wound

Vrana Shodhan ropan: Cleansing and healing of wounds

Internal use of Jatyadi Oil is not recommended but it is used in therapeutic enema to heal internal wounds of rectum and intestines, only under strict supervision of Ayurvedic Doctor.

 

Side effects and precautions of Jatyadi Oil

 

There is no side effects mentioned in Ayurvedic texts or reported by clients as such from prescribed therapeutic dosage of this preparation. It is advisable that Ayurvedic medicine and treatment are generally considered to be safe when taken under the supervision and guidance of an Ayurvedic Doctor, but rarely may be associated with possible adverse reactions in individual cases. We recommend seeking urgent medical attention in the case of an adverse reaction.
